Germane’s Engineering Technology Center (ETC) is a state-of-the-art facility staffed with experienced electrical, mechanical, system and test engineers that have positioned us as industry leaders. Our design process for rugged computers takes a unique two-pronged approach to conceiving the ideal solution: Top-Down – program level assessment of fulfilling operational requirements of the project, Bottom-Up – system level appraisal of every component for optimal performance, reliability, and life-cycle management. This two-pronged approach allows our engineers to incorporate proven design principles that produce IT solutions built with the highest standards of quality and performance, and designed to survive rigorous deployments in all sorts of harsh environments.
Our products are evaluated and tested in-house during development using our thermal/humidity chamber, shock table, vibration table, air flow test bench, and acoustic test chamber. A decade ago, Germane invested in a new technology known as a Fused Deposition Machine, allowing us to go directly from design to plastic prototypes. Today we have several such FDMs – common-known as 3D printers – used in our Engineering Technology Center as well Manufacturing.
Germane’s investment in engineering research has resulted in numerous patented technology breakthroughs. These include our Remote Battery Access©, AeroLoc© Baffle for Advanced Thermal Management©, Slim Sled (patent pending), GEMSS© (Germane Enhanced Module Support System), and Fan Control Module.©
