Germane announces military rugged hyper-converged server
October 6, 2016
Germane Systems™, a leading designer and provider of rugged computers and servers to customers that include the US government, announced their newest system today, the Germane HyperG™. The HyperG is a built-to-order, rugged hyper-converged server that is designed to extend modern data center capabilities into harsh theatre environments.
The HyperG solution features a Solid-State Array with a unique serviceability aspect making it ideal for challenging installations. The HyperG supports operating systems and data management software that are optimized for solid-state technology. The Germane HyperG fully supports NetApp® ONTAP Select along with other NetApp products. The hyper-converged architecture enables integrators to quickly and easily deploy their NetApp data fabric in combat or other harsh environments. The HyperG design features Intel components, specially-designed Germane backplanes to support rugged operation, and unique SSA access for easy serviceability.
“As integrators look to leverage more interconnected, cloud services, this dictates that private clouds move closer to tough work environments – like the battlefield or field transport. Germane’s HyperG has been designed to satisfy those requirements and is the only solution that combines SSA with NetApp’s popular ONTAP Select software,” said Kerry O’Brien, CEO and president of Germane Systems.
A variety of configurations are supported; contact Germane for specific system requirements, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
